Ali and Hameed, both in their 60s, hail from the same family for whom coffee is synonymous with fond memories. Even today, close and extended relatives come together to tend to the farm, growing new seedlings and taking care of each tree like an extension of themselves. Settled in the valley of Bait Alal in western Yemen, the Subaihs are proud and prolific farmers striving to perfect their craft, making the best out of the scarce resources in this isolated hamlet.
The fruit of their labour, under natural processing, yields a stunning cup – structured, flavourful and fruit-forward – bound to charm and fascinate coffee drinkers around the globe.
