A first sip that cloaks you in sweet cacao with a lingering aftertaste akin to biscoff biscuits, La Pola is an outstanding entry point into washed Colombian coffee.
Known as the ‘Folklore Paradise of Huila’, from where many traditional dance forms and music emerge, La Plata is a hamlet at the foothills of Cordillera Central Andes Mountains, whose green terrain spans altitudes through 1,600 - 1,900 MASL. It is blessed with proximity to three majestic rivers – Rio La Plata, Rio Aguacatal and Paez – as well as perennially green climatic conditions, making it conducive to high-quality coffee farming.
La Pola, named in homage to the revolutionary Colombian heroine, whose statue adorns La Plata's town square, honours the spirit of coffee growers in this region. Their smallholdings yield exquisite coffee beans that grace the final cup. Sweet and balanced, where cacao, pomelo and panela shine through filter and espresso, La Pola is a coffee that can be had by the mug – standalone or with milk.
